At Brown Haven Homes, we are crystal clear on our culture, consistency, and core values. We work hard to identify and hire people whose own priorities align with ours, not only to be the most efficient and well-run home building company possible for our customers, but also so that our team members love their jobs!

That passion we identify in each of our team members is what sets us apart from other builders and, frankly, from any other company. Working at Brown Haven Homes is even better than working with family, because we’ve all made the choice to come together and create something amazing. Here are just a few reasons why we love working for Brown Haven Homes:

We Support Our Community

Community involvement and giving back are huge pieces of our company culture. We are a group of doers, both when it comes to building homes, and in life. When we see an opportunity to help, we do it! Every employee of the month gets to choose a charity, and Brown Haven Homes will donate $1,000 in their name. In addition, each employee is allowed $500 annually to donate to a charity or organization of their choice. Some of the organizations we have supported are:

  • Leukemia & Lymphoma Society
  • National Kidney Foundation
  • Hope for Paws
  • Toys for Tots
  • Lincoln County High School
  • Sawnee Elementary Covenant Child Care
  • and dozens more!

Brown Haven Homes also supports local schools and sports teams by sponsoring seasons. This year we are sponsoring the state-champ Hiawassee Basketball Team!

We Celebrate Individuality

A key part of our company culture is that we celebrate individuality. Different personalities are what make us highly adaptive and responsive to any situation. We even give new team members a personality assessment during onboarding so we can understand how they work best with others, so everyone can accomplish their goals more easily. The result is a happier, more productive workforce that feels valued and accomplished!

We are Committed to Personal Growth

Brown Haven Homes is committed to the professional and personal growth of each team member. Team building-events, like our start-of-year kickoff with Don Yaeger, help motivate people to work together toward a common goal, and to develop their strengths and work out any differences. Throughout the year, each local office also coordinates smaller outings — like bowling, brunch, and tiki boat cruises — to work toward the same goals.

In our company-wide book club, we’re currently reading The 21 Irrefutable Laws of Leadership by John C. Maxwell. Brown Haven Homes President John Allen is an avid reader and selects books to provide each of us with the opportunity to grow professionally and personally.

We encourage our employees to learn something new whenever they can, and regularly pay for seminars, training events, and networking opportunities so they can do so. In the past we’ve sent our team members to:

  • Buildertrend University
  • The Online Sales & Marketing Summit
  • Guest Speaker Events with Bob Witten and Don Yaeger
  • Virtual Training Sessions with our builder management and CRM software partners

And of course, we have fun! The entire team lives, works, and plays in the Blue Ridge Mountains region and we are humbled by the opportunity to create communities here.

At Brown Haven Homes, we work hard, cultivate talent, and admire strong character. We love what we do, where we build, and the people we get to work alongside. And it's all reflected in the beautiful custom homes we build for our customers.
