As July 4th rapidly approaches, many of us are taking indoor activities outdoors. This time of year families are firing up the grill and spending time cooking meals to bring family and friends together. As you are preparing your July 4th menu, we thought we would offer some gourmet burger suggestions to make the ordinary burger, well, extraordinary.

As you prepare your burgers, consider adding finely chopped Vidalia onions, fresh jalapenos, or greed, red, and yellow peppers for added color and flavor.  Another way to add flavor is to add seasonings such as fresh, pressed garlic, cayenne pepper, onion powder, paprika, chili powder, and brown sugar to your beef patties prior to cooking.

For the best barbeque burger ever, mix equal parts brown sugar, cayenne pepper, paprika, and onion powder before cooking. Top your cooked burger with your favorite barbeque sauce, applewood smoked bacon and sliced onion.

If you love the flavor of Tex Mex, mix finely chopped fresh jalapenos into your patties before cooking. Top your cooked burger with pepper jack cheese, spicy ranch dressing, and fresh avocado slices.

            If you want to make your July 4th burgers appeal to any picky palate, consider offering your guests a burger bar, complete with a variety of fixings and condiments. Include feta, goat, gouda, swiss, pepper jack, and white American cheeses. Add avocado slices, fresh jalapenos, and green tomatoes to the normal lettuce, tomato, and onion options. Offer spicy ranch, barbeque sauce, and honey mustard, to your normal ketchup, mustard, mayonnaise, and relish condiments.
