With one of the longest and most vibrant leaf seasons, Asheville really puts on a show in the fall! Besides the mountain’s views, there are iconic trails, family friendly orchards & farms, and the unique art scene! Below is a list of fall events, festivals, activities, and tastings, making it easy for you to ‘Fall in love with Asheville’.

Fall in Love with Farms & Orchards

Jeter Mountain Farm Apple Orchard| 1126 Jeter Mountain Road Hendersonville, NC | Thursday-Friday 10a.m. – 3p.m. | While it is a little bit out of the way, this U-pick apple farm is truly the perfect fall experience, additionally they have a farmers’ market, fresh apple cider and apple cider donuts.

Darnell Farms| 2300 Governors Island Rd. Bryson City, NC | Monday-Sunday | A hayride, visit to the pumpkin patch, and homemade jams, drinks, jellies, the ideal fall farm experience!

Fall in Love with Trails

Beacon Heights Trail| This quick little .8-mile (round trip) hike has big rewards! It features a lookout with a great view of grandfather mountain and due to the high elevation, tends to see fall color early in the season.

Biltmore Estate Trails| Did you know Biltmore has 22 miles of hiking trails? A favorite of our Asheville experience leader Angelica’s is the trail to the Lagoon – a perfect picnic spot that provides a striking view of the west side of Biltmore House. Mid-to-late fall is a colorful time to hike the trails here.

Cataloochee Trails| Enjoy the historic churches and cabins as you stroll the trails in Cataloochee, however, the real view is the elk! Cataloochee is home to a large elk population and to experience them in person is surreal!
