The past year has encouraged us to reimagine our routines at homes — which also means we’re seeing new design trends for the year ahead! We sat down with Michelle, our lead designer (and chief happiness curator), to ask her about the exciting design features you can expect in our Brown Haven homes, and the trends that are currently making a splash. When you decide to build with us, you’ll create a modern home that embraces and enhances your lifestyle every day. Take a look at what you can look forward to in 2021.
Bathroom Trends:We’re seeing sleek, clean lines as a top trend for 2021, with white being the most popular color for vanities, countertops, and tile. Our Maple Cottage owner’s suite showcases clean lines and a monochromatic color scheme! Accent walls (outside of the shower walls) are also trending — patterned tile and bold paint colors are the most popular. We now offer a variety of patterned tiles like the Memoir and Bee Hive Collections for fun accent walls!
Kitchen Trends:Due to quarantine, organization in the kitchen is now a key trend. Our custom cabinet company offers many options for kitchen organization, including a fluted spice inset, Hafele lazy susan, cookie sheet dividers, and cutlery inserts. Decorative hoods are also trending (as opposed to a sterile-looking stainless steel hood), which you can see in our Plantation plan below:
Not to mention, investing in fancier fixtures and finishes for your kitchen is now “in” as well. You can achieve this fancier look with our new curated collection of island pendant fixtures and faucets in fun finishes like brushed gold.
Outdoor Trends:Now more than ever, a private, peaceful place to relax outside may be at the top of your priority list, whether for quarantine or to enjoy a socially distanced get-together with close friends and family. That’s why in 2021, an outdoor living space that can be used year-round is a major trend. For example, the spacious porch in our McIntosh plan comes complete with a fireplace to keep you and your family warm all year long, so you can enjoy the simple pleasures of relaxing outside no matter the time of day.
