For Ms. Andrea Terry, building a home was never just about square footage or finishes. It was about honoring her family’s legacy.
Her father was the first African American landowner in Bradley, South Carolina. That land held generations of memories, resilience, and pride. When Ms. Terry came to us, she shared her dream of building her home on that very property, right next door to her mother. She wanted a place where family could gather, where her children and grandchildren could come visit, laugh, and make memories of their own.
After completing her selections and preparing to break ground, unexpected challenges with the land nearly stopped the project altogether. It was a heartbreaking moment. But we weren’t willing to give up on her dream. Our team explored every possible solution, worked through setbacks, and stayed committed to making this home happen.
And we did.
In June 2025, Ms. Terry broke ground on her new home, built on her father’s land, just as she envisioned. By December 2025, she walked through her front door for the first time, into a space that represented more than a house. It was a continuation of her family’s story.
Now, she can walk next door to visit her mom anytime. Her home is a place where her children and grandchildren gather, where new memories are made, and where her father’s legacy lives on through the generations.
This is why we do what we do.
Because homes aren’t just built with wood and nails.
They’re built with history, heart, and hope.
